Terezín
located 70 km N of Prague, was founded in the 18th century by Josef II and was used as a political prison. G. Principe, who assassinated František Ferdinand de Este, died here. During the World War II Terezín was converted into a concentration camp for Jewish people from all over Europe.
Slavkov - Austerlitz
located 230 km SE of Prague in Moravia where you can visit the memorial erected to commemorate the bloody "Battle of three emperors" in 1805. The Battle of Austerlitz (Bitva u Slavkova) was one of Napoleon's greatest victories as he effectively destroyed the Third Coalition against the French Empire.
