dresdenDresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Kings of Saxony, who furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendour for centuries. Despite the damages caused by the bombing of Dresden during the World War II and by Soviets` exploitation of Eastern Germany over 40 years the face of the city dramatically changed, there are many well preserved or renewed buildings for you to discover.

The royal buildings are among the most impressive buildings in Dresden because the Dresden castle was once the home of the royal household. The wings of the building have been restored many times, that is why the castle’s architecture consists of different styles: Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist. The Zwinger Palace is situated right across the road from the castle. Dresden Elbe Valley was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004.
