Esztergom is one of the oldest towns in Hungary. Throughout its rich history, times of great kings, significant events, rich palaces and churches were followed by the massacres of battles. At the edge of the mountain the remains of the castle of Esztergom stand. Most parts of the palace were explored and restored, but even today there are archeological excavations in progress.
Whether we arrive by boat or by car, the sight of the town of Esztergom emerging from the surrounding hills captures the imagination.
